How do lessons work?
Lessons are usually one-to-one and last for one hour, either in person or online. Sophie adapts each session to the student’s needs, whether it’s GCSE exam prep, KS3 support, or confidence-building.

What ages and year groups do you teach?
Sophie works with students in Years 7 to 11 (KS3 and GCSE). She can also offer primary or A-level tuition - just get in touch via the Contact page to discuss your child’s needs.

Can you help with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ADHD and autism?
Yes, Sophie has extensive experience supporting students with SEN, especially those with ADHD and autism. If your child has specific needs or learning preferences, let Sophie know when you enquire.

Where are lessons held?
In-person lessons take place at the student’s home in Didsbury, Stockport, South Manchester or Cheshire. If you are happy to travel, she can host you at her home in Didsbury village. Online lessons are available UK-wide.

How much do lessons cost?

What subjects do you cover?
Sophie specialises in English Language and English Literature for KS3 and GCSE, including reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing, literature analysis and exam technique.

Do you set homework?
Homework is optional but recommended. Sophie provides practice tasks, revision activities, or reading recommendations tailored to each student.

What exam boards do you cover?
Sophie has experience with all the main exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. As a senior AQA examiner, she has particular insight into AQA exam technique.

Yes. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is renewed every year, so you can be confident all lessons meet current safeguarding standards.
